Patience and Parenting !!...One SLAP!!
I lost patience today when feeding my daughter and slapped her:(, she is just 21 months old!!
What went wrong with me and why did i need to behave like that with her:(
She is one such wonderful kid, who always moves around with me calling Amma...Amma...
Wakes up, gets ready in an half and hour (Natural Call, Bathing and getting ready!!) . Very active, little organized, Enjoys playing with me. Not much complaints!!
My first test begins, when i start giving her the breakfast, sometimes she is OK, but most of the times, it takes around one hour for me to feed her, I realized that i am doing something wrong in forcing her to eat what she does not want to eat!!
Generally she likes Chapathi, i thought i can try that today for breakfast, but it failed badly and she started spitting, the same thing happened yesterday afternoon when i was feeding her rice and dal also. I was worried , she generally does not open her mouth to eat, we need to divert her and then she opens her mouth and i feed her. I need to spend around one hour for every meal and now if she starts spitting then she will not get the nutrients she wants and my job will be very tough, that was the thought going in my mind and I thought that if i scream at her she will not spit, I tried that she cried but, refused to not to spit.
I played her rhymes which she likes, i took her out , gave things she likes, all did not work and I thought "One Slap " will stop her from doing that and I did that:(
Big surprise!! she did not react at all :( but after few minutes she cried very badly because i was angry on her. I relaized my mistake and cooked her semiya upma and she ate it happily.
I am feeling bad for not being patient and not trying to understand her:(
I promise my dear "pandu thalli". Will not do that again!!...TEARS IN MY EYES!!
Love,
Amma!!
